Our Beliefs
At City Changers Church, we believe you were born to have joy regardless of the circumstances and situations of your life. Our major desires are to serve you, help you and see you completely changed through the simple teaching and preaching of the Word of God.
We believe in the power of prayers that changes things. City Changers is the oasis where the hurting, the hopeless, the discouraged, the frustrated, the confused and the depressed can find love, forgiveness, acceptance, encouragement, direction and joy from the presence of our Lord.
Our essential beliefs:
- The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. We believe it is inspired by God and that it is fully authoritative as God’s truth, without error.
- God is the creator and ruler of the universe and the one who redeems, saves, or rescues mankind from sin and its consequences. His eternally existence in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life and voluntarily paid for our sin by taking our place on the cross, and dying for us. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power and victory over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again.
- The Holy Spirit is a person. He is the comforter who begins a great work in the lives of those who accept Christ. With His infilling comes the power for life, service, spiritual gifts and the work of the ministry.
- Salvation is God’s free gift of freedom from sin. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by accepting God’s free offer of forgiveness in Jesus Christ by faith, can man be saved from sin’s penalty.
- The Ordinances are water baptism by immersion for believers and the observance of the Lord’s Supper as constant remembrance of His death and resurrection.
- The church is the body of Christ, comprising people of all nations, tribes and tongues, purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ and with a divine appointment for the fulfilment of the great commission.
